West Bandung Regency Officials (KBB) visited Telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom) campus on Tuesday (14/05/2013). Rector of IT Telkom, Ahmad Tri Hanuranto, Ir.,MT welcomed the guests at Learning Centre Building’s Multimedia Room.
The even started with a word of welcome addressed by Rector of IT Telkom, which was later resumed by a remark from Assistant III for Administration and General Affairs of KBB, Wahyu Diguna. The event was attended by Head of Offices and Districts in West Bandung region.
“Government with its bureaucracy requires a structuring. The lack of human resources is currently aided by an utilization of IT. Our commitment is to public services.” Wahyu said. He hopes there will be cooperation between IT Telkom andKBB which is headed at that direction.
On the occasion, Vice Rector III of IT Telkom, Dr. Teguh Widodo, SE.,ST.,MM presented inspiring insights on TIK’s role in accelerating regional government advancements.
“Telematics’ role becomes one of Indonesia’s economic growth programs. Telematics will trigger economic growth,” Teguh said.
He explained, along with the changes in IT, people’s lifestyle will also change. Indonesia is recorded as the 8th country with highest number of internet users and 3rd with highest growth rate.With a projected growth rate of 58% growth rate for the past 5 years, IMF estimates Indonesia to be the country with the fastest economic growth between G20 countries.
Teguh also expressed several reasons why e –gov is necessitated, one of which is government transformation towards democratic governance. e-Gov also supports the balance and facilitates communication between central government and local government in order to actualize the era of the information society.
